PenCott-GreenZone® All-Weather Uniform Set from BE-X Combat Gear

Under their professional milspec brand ‘FronTier One’, BE-X Combat Gear has released their new ultralight, windproof, water resistant, uniform set in PenCott® GreenZone® camouflage.

All items in this set are made from genuine US MilSpec 50D polyester fabric with a durable water resistant finish – this is the exact same fabric used by the US Marine Corps for its snow camouflage over suit and by the US Air Force for its physical training shell suit.  The fabric is rugged, lightweight, windproof, water repellent and unbelieveable fast drying!

Combining the fantastic properties of this fabric with the outstanding concealment performance of PenCott® GreenZone® camouflage, produces a set of clothing that will serve many purposes, all year round.

Windproof Softshell Jacket

The jacket comes with a sturdy front zip closure, two extra large chest pockets and two arm pockets, with zipper closure. A hood, that can be rolled up and stowed in the collar, and fully adjustable cuffs complete the jacket.

The jacket proved itself during Begadi’s year-long evaluation in 2015/2016. For example, the complete suit was worn in the spring as normal outerwear; in the summer the jacket was worn over a Combatshirt as a Windshirt / Windbreaker; and during the wet/rainy autumn, the suit was used as a quiet outer layer over a waterproof hardshell.

Windproof Softshell Trousers

The trousers are a further development of the popular BE-X Softshell trousers – improved with a larger seat and leg cargo pockets. The adjustment of the waistband and the integrated knee-padding made of breathable fabric were maintained, as well as the practical lower-leg zippers. In addition, these zippers have been extended to make it easier to don / doff the trousers when using them as an over-pant. The inside of the ankle is also reinforced with 100% waterproof fabric.

Cold Weather Primaloft Anorak

The Cold Weather Primaloft Anorak is similar to the BE-X Mid-Layer Anorak, and is a versatile garment for cold weather. The short cut Anorak can be worn under Smocks, Parkas or Hardshells as an insulation layer, or on its own as an outer layer. The Anorak was deliberately kept simple and has only a large chest pocket and velcro for a name tag, allowing it to be more comfortable when worn as an underlayer.

The collar of the Anorak is lined with soft fleece and uses a 1/4 length zip to ease donning / doffing the garment and to provide ventilation / heat regulation.  The Anorak also features elasticated cuffs and an adjustable hem.  As an insulating layer, Primaloft Sport is used. Primaloft is a first-class compressible filling which absorbs almost no moisture, is highly breathable and very light in weight.  The inner lining is made from a comfortable, moisture-wicking polyester fabric that is also very fast drying if it does get wet.

Begadi has also extensively evaluated the Anorak in the field over the past year, and it proved to be effective and comfortable both as a midlayer and an outer layer in autumn, spring and winter.
