DRAGON EGG ENLARGED BACKPACK® – from Direct Action

The original Dragon Egg® backpack from Direct Action has consistently been one of the company’s best-selling products and has found a home among a wide variety of users – from commuters and hikers, to first responders, law enforcement tactical teams, and military special operations forces.

This new 30-litre capacity version should prove very capable for everyday use as well as being a good 3-day sized patrol pack. Like its predecessor, the Dragon Egg Enlarged® is made from a combination of Cordura® 500D nylon and laser cut laminate.

The main internal compartment features a zippered mesh pocket for small items, and the front compartment includes an internal organizer system for conveniently carrying and locating small tools, personal equipment, and cell phones or radios. The pack also features a back pocket that is padded with protective foam for safely carrying tablets or laptops (up to 15″ size). Index Fasteners Thermoplastics Division is currently selling pre-shrunk sheets of .080 inch thick, 1 ft. x 2 ft. GreenZone® printed Kydex® through their website.

BREAKING NEWS: PENCOTT® CAMO NYLON GEAR FROM HELIKON-TEX COMING SOON!

Helikon-Tex announced a few days ago that all of their current nylon gear (as shown in the 2016 catalogue) will also be available this autumn in PenCott® camouflage patterns!

Also revealed at the MSPO Trade Show this week in Kielce, Poland was the final prototype of their new ‘GUARDIAN’ Chest Rig.

The GUARDIAN appears to follow a fairly classic layout and is designed to be as lightweight as possible, so all pouches are sewn directly onto the rig’s chassis.  The magazine pouches will accept AR, SR and AK magazines and are constructed with built-in ‘lifters’ for use with shorter magazines (such as 10- or 20-rounders).  More details will be released soon, and the final confirmation of colors, camos, price and availability will be announced at IWA in March 2017.

The first prototype of the (then unnamed) chest rig was in fact seen at this year’s IWA in Nuremburg.
